"And you thought Surface Cage Diving was fun, Wait til you try Bottom Cage Diving!"

Shark Cage

The Shark Experience:

There is nothing like it, standing on the ship looking at the 4 metre Great White Sharks circling the boat, attacking the tuna floats and thinking, that would be awesome to see under the water.

Great Whites are usually in 2 places, on the surface or on the bottom of the ocean. They are on the surface to feed on seals and sea lions but the majority of the time they are on the bottom, lurking around silently looking for prey, waiting to pounce, never sleeping.

I have to say, the experience of Bottom Cage Diving makes me glad I got my Diving certification. There is nothing like it, totally surrounded by the ocean, dangling and rocking with the ship on a 1/2 thick wire cable in 20 metres of water, with the predator at the top of the oceanic food chain, circling around you, coming at you at great speeds and then at a blink of an eye, shooting off to the distance.

No doubt about it, I will be going back. The crew were excellent, the other divers were great fun to be with and having Rodney Fox, the "Sharkman" on the trip just added to the experience, his great stories kept me attentive all night and I will miss those 5am conversation over coffee.

Watch the Video, Experience it, I dare you!
